Ok, this has happened a few times now, and its starting to get to me. Has anyone ever had some bad leakages? Im not sure where its coming from, but after some overnight heavy rain, a couple of times ive come out to my car in the morning to find a puddle of water at my feet. SO ive recently been parking it undercover at home, because its really ****ting me, but i even found sme water there again this morning, even thou it was undercover through some heavy rain last nite.
sorry for all my rambling, but has anyone heard of this?! this bad?! and also, has anyone found a company that does carpets for 3rd gens yet?
any help appreciated

sorry, haven't had this problem (yet - reaches over to touch wood).
yeah trav i've got this too...
iu thought it might be something to do with the grommit where we put the cable through for the amp :| because we cut a bigger hole so it wasnt water sealed anye more :(
but i get a puddle at my feet and so does my missus :o it really ****ing annoys me coz the next day when the water evaporates inside the windows all condense up!!!

Ok....well i own a 3rd gen and YES i have this same ****ing problem. My problem only occurs in the front passenger footwell, not the driver's side.
I've ripped open the carpet, and man did it take me AGES to drain all the water out....I have sprayed water from underneath the car, and haven't yet identified any leakage areas.... and man, i swear it smells like something died in my car....not a good way to impress anyone that gets in the car  ....gotta say, my Ambi Pur air-freshener is gettin one hell of a workout! :D i dont usually use it
I spoke to a smash repairs guy, he told me "if the leakage isn't from under the car, then i should take out the vents just under the front windshield, and make sure they aren't blocked. Cuz apparently it could leak thru there.
For now, i've just laid a layer of plastic mats underneath the carpet so that the carpet doesn't get soaked and make my car stink like dead carcass again. After exams, i shall tackle this problem.
If anyone with a 3rd gen fixes this really annoying problem before i do, please let me know
Thanx :D

Literally the second day i owned my TE, it rained, and i discovered a big puddle of water in the front passenger footwell. man was i p!ssed off.
So begins the saga of why i hate Mitsubishi dealers.
I took it in and asked them to take a look, they said it shouldnt be more than an hour so i waited there. 3 hours later, the guy comes in and says "sorry, we cant find the leak, try a smash repairer".
So i did, and $100 and half a day later the smash repairer located and sealed the leak. That was 2.5 years ago, havent had a problem since.
I actually cant remember where the leak was, right up near the guard though i think.

ok update...
well my main prblem is my drivers side, although previously when my drivers side was very bad, there was a little bit on the passenger side too.
yesterday at werk i pulled off my wipers, and took off those vents (inbetween the bonnet and the windscreen) to check for excess leafs or sumthin. didnt seem too bad. what im thinking now is... the seal above the drivers window allows water to flow down it, then you will find a small hole, where i think it would run down into the a pillar and drain somewhere. now i dont think it is doing this properly. i feel it MAY be running down into the A pillar, but somehow finding my tweeter wire that runs behind the dash and under my feet, and using that to slowly leak into the cabin.
this is about the best a can come up with atthe moment, because i cant definately find traces of forced water through a gap in my window or anything. it definately has to be a slow leak. because it rained during the day quite a bit, so after a while i moved my car under cover, where it couldnt ge rained ona t all, but there was still water the next day, so its gathered up the water when it got rained on during the day, then slowly leaked into the cabin overnight.
sorry for my rambling, but you can hoepfully kinda work out where im coming from.
so does anyone know if theres like someone who does this for a profession? or where can i take my car?
ill try and take some photos to give you guys a clear view of the places im looking at
cheers

Hey mate, no, my car is not lowered, its stock.
Although, i have a feeling the water mite be coming from:
a) a leak in the vents just under the front windshield (near windscreen wipers)
or
b) through a hole which my amp wiring goes through to the car battery
i guess i'll just wait till end of exams and i'll find out

I'm guessin your highly correct! as the vent on the passenger side is slightly uplifted (has a slight gap where water can seep thru)
so yeh....i guess i'll be fixing that....hopefully the rain stops sometime soon, so i can!

Ok guys, well i've found out how i'm gettin water into my passenger footwell:
Since the vent under the front windshield has slightly uplifted on the passenger side, it is letting water run into the engine bay, and from there, the water enters a hole in the firewall which i use to run my amp wire into the car! so there go you.
There is nothin wrong with the front windshield seals but however an RAC dude is coming tomorrow morning at 8am to replace the current windshield as it cracked a bit very early this morning due to me turning on the heater in my car and the weather outside being extremely cold. But there must have already been a fracture in the windshield somewhere in order for it crack.
oh well i get a new windshield with new seals for FREE!! :D
