hey, been looking on sites and all, but cant seem to find any joy. do they still make cd stackers that are stand alone. so that u have a small remote to control it and then it runs to an amp and speakers? so the original headunit can remain?.....
if so does anyone know what brand? TY

Pioneer CDX-FM687
doesn't plug into speakers, just FM modulator and tune it in like a radio.

hmmmmmmmm, if i was to use fm modulation i may as well buy a cigarette lighter to mini plug for my MD..... qual of those arent great, plus the price tag for just a transmitter is abit crudy dud.
thanks, but nah, would rather the direct amp ones.

I got an FM Pioneer 12 stacker.
It is standalone, has its own remote lead with a small display to show you track info etc and a remote to do all the functions.
Plugs into ur antenna lead for clear reception (so doesnt actually transmit fm waves through the air so to speak) and my stacker mounts in the boot.
Theres a good spot on the centre console for the screen.
Peace
Tim
Anyone know how much these are worth nowadays? I may be looking to sell if i get a good enough price. I don't use it that much. Friend works at Pioneer and he gave it a quick replacement of all the major moving parts so it should be mechanically like new.

ahhhhhhhh, so its not a broadcaster as such... ok, well that doesnt sound to bad then.
i want the screen somewhat hidden out of space with an arm id install to raise when used.and the stacker would be under passenger seat.
ok, ty for the info. stim, and thanks for the link tj, might go that way after all, saves me buying an amp.

hahaha, few more 0's ahh, hows no sound, heheh
this sound system wouldnt be listened to greatly, itd just be to serve a purpose of some sort of music in the car as a tape deck from the car will stay in there.
i cant do pms, turned it off, but if u actually say what ure price is i may tweak..... may not, lol
either that or msn

I bought a six disc Pioneer one at a garage sale for $50. Worked absolutely perfectly, crystal clear, just the same as the fully wired job in my wife's car. I just passed it on to my parents though, bought a JVC MP3 for $198, and it is perfect.

Clarion FMC250 might be helpful. It controls a Clarion CD changer and plays back the sound via your FM car radio - no matter which brand.
