ok well i bought a ecu to get put in the car TE magna about a week ago had it installed at the same time as i had the timing belt done the reason for having the ecu done was because the gears where playing up and mitsubishi said its the ecu....
well i was driving to work yesterday when ithe engine light comes on &(^% i pulled over and turned the car off but being in the middle of nowhere had to keep going so i started the car agian and off we went 2 mins later engine light again and as i accelerate it starts to do some crazy **** the tacho starts going up and down from 2 to 1 to 3 it like the ecu doesnt know whats going on? the racv told me its the distributor the mechanic told me he s 95 % sure its that, we got a new distributor but its still happening so its not that ?? the next thing the mechanic said it must be the ecu ?? any ideas guys ????? Sounds to me like your best bet is to take it to Mitsu and get them to read off any ECU fault codes. Something doesn't sound right.

ok yesterday got new injection leads Still the same problem the mechanic said the code that keeps coming up is the crank angle sensor ?? and the dead centre sensor (in the distributor) ill try and get one today and see if it is that. When mitsubishi did the timing belt they got a piece of **** suck in there and the belt slipped when they where idelling the car to see if its all good, could that caused it as the crank angle sensor is down near the timing belt im just going off what the mechanic told me  we ve tryed new plugs leads distributor the original ECU im hoping its this or im going to tow it to mitsubishi ! !

well after taking out the old crank angle sensor we discovered that mitsubishi didnt put it all together the way its meant to go and the wire from the sensor had rubbed down till it completely stripped the red wire in half !!! What should i do take it back there and show em what they did see if they will pay ??? MAKE EM PAY!! or would they jus tell me to get stuffed ?? :gtfo: What are your thoughts??

go in there DEMAND they fix it for free cause they ****ed up and if not then threaten to go to FAIR TRADING with the case

seriously there are too many dodgy ****in mechanics around and they need to be taught a lesson.

throw yourself around and get angry

mitsu stuffed up on my car (not retightening the nut and tension pulley, nut came off pully, belt was about a bee's dick form slippnig off again) after stuffing up times before i had enough, my new mechanic even wrote me a letter (i asked hm too) to show that a mechanic who had some sort of knowledge on what was going on had checked out the car

mitsu fixed it for free, then i told them i was never coming back to them

AFAIK Mitsubishi's weren't his forte, but he really did try staying back late and he did fix it in the end. Still if wasn't for Mitsu's negligence none of this would've happened. And they denied liability in the first instance and couldn't even look at the car cause they were booked out!
