Hey All,

Well Ive ripped out my 2 subs from the boot of my car and ive decided i will replace the back 6x9's and use them as Subs.. The Pioneer 5550MP has a setting which changes the rear fill to subs (low freq).

Now im just wondering what type of 6x9's would be the way to go?

Has anyone delt with Cadence in terms of Speakers? I have the Q4000 amp which is pretty nice. Just wondering bout their speakers.

anything will pump as 6x9's go, it just also depends if you want much quality.

the usual -

mb quart
Alpine
JL

all would pump pretty nicely. but if your familiar and confident with wat you've got then stick with it buddy

Well yes and no.

I dont think a 4 way will produce as much as a 2 way in terms of bass. Hence the question what are the better quality 6x9's

Got any links to the above mentioned?

Try and get a speaker that has a higher power rating, remember you'll have to have an amp to power it.

I'd say..

Hey,
i don't know about the VR JL Audio 6x9's, but i had the TR 6x9's, rated at 60rms, running them at 50rms. They pump pretty good with only low frequencies going through them, but they tend to be fairly quick to distort (about 22 on the pioneer HU).
I have seen the Cadence 6x9's and they have a huge magnet and look pretty powerful. A shame about the stupid square tweeters :?

As an aside, whats the Q4000 like? i am looking at buying one to run my fronts (75rms splits) and rears (50rms co-ax, which are likely to get an upgrade). Much adjustability and power?

Cheers,
Cam

Cadence Q4000 Specs (http://www.cadencesound.com/action.lasso?-Database=Products&-Table=WEB&-ResponseAny=amplifiers_detail.html&-token.series=&-token.description=4%20Channel&-KeyField=ID&-KeyValue=121&-search)

Above is the specs for the Amp. Im quite happy with it, it ran my 2 subs quite well bridged. Cant say it has the amount of functionality as a Kicker (in terms of settings/adjusting). But for a middle entry amp i think it does really well.
