Well, my battery died on Thursday. Went to start the car to go to work, the thing wouldnt even crank over.....Dad reaconed it was old battery+cold weather. Went to start it when I got home from work (about 2pm), and still wouldnt crank. Considering the last few drives it had done were around the area (bout 6 or 7 kms max each time if I was lucky), I thought the battery mightnd of had enough time to charge or something
When my folks got home, we pushed it out onto the street, and got it to start (I love manuals...). I took it for a drive to Brooklyn and back (Its great at night - no other traffic so can maintain an average speed of between 60 and 70 ). Got home, killed engine, went to start again, and nothing. (Along with a lot of cursing from me)
Took it to the mechanic thismorning for a new battery. $120 in total. Probably a rip off, but the only place in the area that had a battery to suit a TS. Oh well. I havent done too bad: The records from the previous owners go back to april october 2000, and there is no record of a battery replacement in there. Another thing I wont have to worry about for a while

I had a battery die in my TR a few month back,
luckily it died in the carpark of the shopping centre in town and all I had to do was walk into k-mart to buy a battery and a cheap small shifter (spanner), then replace the battery myself.
Kmart have new batteries for about $40. the 2 cheap types will fit commodore, falcon, magna and others that use a larger car battery. The catch is they might not fit the brackets perfectly and their only 260cca and no good if you car has lots of electrical accessories or a big stereo. I have used these cheap batteries before, some for years and never had any trouble with them.
Magna is supposed to have a 380cca battery???
