Gday Peeps.Anyone know how i find out if my oil is mineral or semi syn or full syn?It is a tj 2001 done 185,000 will i have any potential problems with my oil change once i find out what sort of oil i have?

Mine has done around 150.000KMS and I was using castrol magitec, after driving It for a week or so the lifter's started to get very noisie (ticking sound) and my service centre suggested a more thicker oil the next service I got a higher garde oil and that solved the problem ( mobile semi syth) worked for me.

taste it... synth tastes alot better than semi and mineral

Varies between brands. Helix mineral tastes better than Valvoline Synth.

okay okay i get the message no easy way to tell yeah?anyone else help "bar the budding comedians :badgrin:it tastes all the same to me :confused:" would be good thanks

Gold oil = new / newer oil
black oil = Used oil
Never tried tasting it :cool:
