Does anyone know what this error coes means. I had a problem where the battery died about 2 weeks ago, and also did the "5" flasing on the trip computer and the car wouldnt even turn over. Now with a new battery the car turns over and will even run and drive when the revs are up, but when u get off the gas the car just stalls.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i believe you have to tell the car what it is ie 's' is for sedan 'w' wagon then 3l or 3.5l it is described in the owners manual
correct me if i'm wrong

thanks, I got it running good now, pulled the battery off for 10minutes, reconnected, started the car and left for 10 mins, took it for a drive, where it stalled once for first time i came to a complete stop, but then it didnt do that again. I think I may have set the car to a wagon though, but i did do 3.5, i am gonna leave the battery off overnight and see if i can set it so s for sedan.

I had that happen to me, i believe the first question was 5 or 4, referring to how manys gears you have...shortly followed by the 3.5 or 3 litre question.

yeah, i got the setting to computer thing, but it still wont idle, was running perfectly before the battery died, and if i leave the battery off for a while and then just start it, it will idle, but as soon as i take it for a drive, the first time I stop it stalls, and then wont idle again.

Is there a procedure to follow after leaving the battery out for a while, apart from setting the trip computer thing.

This happened in my TS once, all i did was kept driving it even though it stalled, and when it was stationary i kept the revs up a bit and gradually tried to let it idle, if it was about to stall i would increase the revs, after doing this and just driving around all came good.
Hope it helps

yeah, i was thinking about doing that,mi just took it for a 10 min drive and it drives fine, but if u go below about 20k it stalls. I might give it a drive to work and see how it goes.

How long did it take to come good on yours ?

only drove it for about 30mins, but once it started idling properly i left it running for about 20mins

happened to me aswell.

so i totally diconnected the battery, cleaned the terminals(dodgy job scrubbed it with sand paper, but it worked) then opened the battery caps and filled it with water. cleaned termials from car that go onto battery terminals.

reconnected them all up and sprayed WD40 over them.never had a problem scince

good luck

does it really matter with the trip computer whether is is set to sedan or wagon? - i can see how the engine size setting would be important, but, really, wouls having a trip computer in an auto set to sedan really muck up its readings, I have an auto and it is set to sedan - never noticed anything unusual......except for my rattling tappets - mitsu dont care!
