well i have come up with 2 designs for 2nd gen owners with the 2.6ltr..what i need is for all 2nd gen owners with this engine that want a custom airbox that can have a K and N pod (oval one) inside it while the box looks stock to say yes thed order one or not and also post howmuch there willing to pay for a custom airbox. the 2 different airboxes allow for CAI to be clamped on..the first design has the CAI at the top of the box so it hits the filter on the bigger suface area. the second looks more dicreet and has a CAI opening to oneside so its no so ovious to "other people" that u have a pod inside the box. im not sure on prices so thats the info i need from u guys and girls.. im thinking it will be close to the 3rd gens price and if this does go through i need a 50% deposit on whatever the price will be..im thinking of around 140-160 but..all depends on cost..
the 3tlr i think has a different airbox to the ASTRON II's so ill be looking into that this week and see if i can make 2 designs for that to..EVERYONE with a 3LTR dont reply to this poll as ur turn will be in a week or so..

i wish i didn't have a carby sometimes, i want to improve my intake but im not mechanically aware enough to do anything like that
im interested in this, i was gonna do it myself, but if u hav a design i might pm u for it.. anyhow i think the air box for the 3liter is the same as the astron engines coz the engine sits the same way the astron does, with the air box on the rhs (drivers side)

Hmm sounds like two members trying to do the same thing.
Cammera & EZ Boy - are you two talking together ? You may be able to help each other out?
Okay for us plebs out here, we get two designs (suppliers) to choose from ?

well im sure as hell interested =P
can someone please explain to me again why the 2.6 needs the oval filter? k&n list a round one in the catalogue! so i have a round one and i've never had anyy dramas with it =P
as far as how much... well it all depends on what exactly the final product looks like and build quality i spose.. u got any pics? are we talking some garden piping from bunnings that anyone can make for 30 bux or are we talking blow moulded plastic?? (or something of the likes?)
speaking of things being blown....
/me runs from computer

I've known people who've used a round one with the MAS sensor and had no problems, but I've also know ppl who had problems. I've never known anyone who had an oval one who had problems.
The oval isn't because of the motor, it's because of the air sensor.

I'll consider buying this CAI box setup (depending on costs), buy a Pod, then sell my Panel Filter. :D

sorry i dont know.. but this is 1 of 2 designs i have. its almost the same as a normal airbox yet it allows enough room to put the K&N filter. it also has a connection so that a 100mm pipe may be used for a CAI..
