Since I do not have an Airbag fitted to my TE.. I was Wondering how hard would it be to change the Steering wheel..
I will have a Budget of $600 all up, that will have to include Boss Kit and Wheel

Looking at Carbon Fibre or something in Grey so I can then get a Gear knob to match..
...
Any Suggestions...

It's not that hard to change it.. As i have the same thing no airbag but i have factory C/C which is mounted inside the factorywheel so i have to work around that...
Its as easy as taking off the old wheel, bolting on the boss kit then the wheel...and it should cost less than $600 but depends on what u want

I was thinking Momo, Sparco or Autotechnica

Just not sure what one..

I had one on my 89 mitsu galant. It was really easy to change. The front of the steering wheel just pulls off, theres only 1 nut to undo. The trick is to loosen the nut, but not take it off completly. The steering wheel is on really tight, so if leave the nut on just a little bit(a few turns), you can pull the steering wheel really hard, and won't break your nose when it suddenly gives way. Or you can just buy a steering wheel puller.
I had an autotechnica wheel with matching gear knob which looked pretty tidy.
All up it cost $250
$120 for the wheel
$80 for the Boss kit
and $50 for the gear knob

Isotta make some nice, reasonably priced steering wheels i think.

whats wrong with the stock one? I like the stock one

Isotta is probably what we consider as the best, they have done a lot of research and has actually been ADR approved and can be used on Australian roads. While not all momo ones are. Plus Isotta is made in Italy, Momo isn't. Quality is quite different. We do both Isotta and Momo but I do have my own opinion.

You certainly don't need $600 to change the wheel and knob.

All I want on my wheel is to put a volume control and auto station changer thing.

How much do you think I could get the Gear knob and steering wheel replaced for ??? I want them to match and don't like those Golf ball type Gear knobs.. and wood grain is definately out.
