I took my magna to have it serviced around christmas, they said that the top engine mount was half cracked  . They said it didn't need to be fixed immediatly. They quoted me $281.60  , is this a reasonable price? is it mostly labour costs? i'm planning to have it fixed soon so kind of need a quick response on this one guys if possible. Thanks
I have also noticed that when i'm sitting at the lights there seems to be more vibration than what i'm used to, is this due to the engine mount? Or may i have other more serious issues?

Green_TF: Y dont u think the modified engine mount isnt for u? I have heard good things about them, will last longer, meant to slighty improve handling too and also its cheaper. I dont see the down side of it! My mount went about 1 year ago paid 200+ for a new while being unaware of this product, if i knew i would have purchased it in a flash

In relation to your situation, your mounts are for an earlier model magna which are different and evidently alot cheaper that the current shape 3rd gens.

I have the one of the upgraded mounts in my car, the front one, it's the hardest one that was there due to certain curcemstances. It is different than a stock one, the car shakes a bit on idle now, just a little rumble sort of thing. But I can live with that because I know I'm not gonna destroy it dumping it into 2nd again

yer different gen. not only that but u cant buy inserts for the right hand engine mount unless you go through the qld boys as far as i know.
mr_mbquart, green tf like me when u read through the thread you'll notice most arent happy with it becuase vibrations etc. which in return puts u off it. (note: the ones that most had where street not standard though i think :doubt: )

The main reason i don't think these mounts are for me is because i'm sure mitsubishi chose the tpye of insert for damping that provides minimal transfer of vibration to the rest of the car over the entire RPM range so as not to cause any extra damage to the car. i think this is why some people experience with these experience more vibration whilst idiling. That's just my 2 cents. For all i know the guy doing them could be a mechanical engineer and knows exactly what he's doing.
