Evening all... just joined up adn thought i would rack you brains for a answer - great site by teh way. It has helped me out heaps with sorting out how to work the rear brake changeover which is why my question is posed...

I ahve a TP Wagon (auto exec) and a TP SE (man). i was changing over the rear pads on the wagon and with a bit of trouble finally worked out how the piston went back in (thanks to this site!) Anyways so i put it all back together again and now i ahve the issue where the actaul caliper is rubbing on the wheel wuite badly... seeing as all the holes line up and that why is it rubbing - i was kinda hopnig that soemone else would have done this (surely im not the only stupid one around here  ) Interestingly i swapped wheels and it kinda fixed it but when i put the other wheel on the other side it started rubbing again. Out of time and thoughts i put my SE spare wheel on it and its fine so its a clearance issue more than anything else but i cant work out why its just started after i replaced the pads.

Any more info or whatever just ask - if i havent explained it properly it wouldnt be the first time and ill try and help you out where i can

I will ask far more questions in the near future when i sell my other car to fund my soudn system in the SE but until then im having lots of fun listening to the wonderful audio entertainment that Mitsubishi decided to inflict the unsuspecting public with when it first came out

A little background info, this is my first SE in a list of 5 magnas - all TP execs both wagons, sedans, manual and auto - so whilst its a bit unfamiliar im liking the comfort level!

umm try putting the wheel thats not clearing on another car and see if its the same on that one, it sounds like the wheels bent, no idea how it happened if you only changed the breaks and it was fine before hand

and welcome to the site and hope you enjoy it here

This is what is causing me to rack my brain and why i cant work it out, nothing was really changed (apart from the pads of course ) and wasnt bent and everything went back in the original holes and there wasnt one bolt left over so i thought we were pretty succesful. i was lead to believe that there wasnt much movement in them to do that. what are other peoples clearences bewteen the caliper and the wheel?

Thankyou and i have been enjoying it - its amazing what you blokes do to these things... mind you MrsGurio isnt enjoying it coz you have opened up a whole world of things to do to the old girl!

P.S. what type of braking system do they have - as in front/rear or diagonal?

Would it work on the SE? or have they got different clearences?
