I don't know if I'm imagining it or what, but I was wondering whether anyone else has any issues with their front windscreen - I know all about the problems with the rear and the repair kit.

There was no kit as such, it involved a whole new rear windscreen and seals as gremlin says - unfortunately i know this as i've had my rear one replaced just recently under warranty.
The only issues i've had with my front one is the trim&seals at the bottom of the front wind shield cracked a pealed, all fine again now though as was replaced under warranty last month. :)

Thats interesting about the rear. I'll have to try and work out if they gave me a new rear screen. I was told the rear window was removed & reinstalled with some seal repair kit fitted.

I dont see how as the rear seals are moulded into the glass from memory, hence why they replaced mine.
Unless of course yours being a 2003 Series II allready had the revised windscreen and there are issues with the seals of those to... argh!

My dad has an annoying squeek/creak on his. Took us weeks to find, very hard to pinpoint, but i think it comes from the join in the roof where the middle strut meets the window. Around that T join anyway.
I deadened over it and it seemed to quiten it a bit, but it seems to come from body flex so not an easy fix.
If anyone else knows what it is let me know.
It sounds like the dash, but if you put ur head forward into the dash it comes from behind you.

yep i got a TL and the rear screen was replaced. The whole screen, i put a mark on the old one and it was gone, so they must have put in a whole new screen
Yup Madmagna is on the ball i had both replaced under warranty cause they both squeaked they told me that they replace the screens cos it is normal for them to get broken when they try to remove them. :D

I origanally thought mine was coming from the air vent in the dash till the rear window sarted makin the same noise!

Sounds like they probably just silicon'ed mine then.
Anyone know a good Mitsubishi dealer in Sydney?
Is the front windscreen affected by the same problem as the rear?. I have heard that squeek/rattle coming from the dash vents on the drivers side of my TJ, and what I thought was the glovebox rattling as well. Its been looked at and no problem found there. This was driving me nuts till I saw this thread last week. So, I rang my local Mitsu dealer today, and spoke to the head service guy, who at first, said that there was no windscreen problem with any model magna.
After some gentle prodding, (mentioning a certain Mitsu website) he finally admitted that there was a problem with the rear, but not with the front. So who's right?. Or has my 3 year old Magna decided its had enough, and is coming apart at the seams. (hope not)
Its the TJ model between the series 1 and 2. Auto with the Tiptronic gearbox.

I've had nothing but trouble with my local service department so far.
Mine is a series 2 tj sports and they did the front as well. Origanally I had no idea it was the windscreen would have put money on the vents. :D

Yeah, I rang up the service adviser today.
MMAL now has a field fix for the rear windscreen, which basically means that they don't replace the rear screens anymore.
Front screen def. makes a rubber squeeking noise, its going back to get the airbag cover fixed so Ill get them to fix it again (seeing they didn't believe me the first time)

Has anyone else with a lowered wagon got shocking squeaking noises from rear quater windows? Mine is shocking. Gives me the real ****s. I have had both windows re-sealed about 4 times. Is ok for a few weeks then comes back. Body isnt stiff enough.
I'm getting 1 rattle from the front and 1 squeek kinda sound.
I know the rattle is coming from the rear vision mirror (when i hold it the rattle stops) and the squeek happens when we close the front doors also...
Sounds like i'll have to investigate this windscreen replacement.
Yes...my car is lowered so this might have exagerated the problem.

They place some teflon tape around the rear window (under the seal) using a special tool.
