Hi All,

My girlfriend has just got her self a 97TE altera, we are looking at replacing the stero in it this weekend. I've always been a commodore nut, so I got no ideas when it comes to the TE with out RTFM.

Can someone tell if

6" speakers will mount in the front doors with out any mods, I see that 6.5" go in, just want to confirm that 6" will also fit in.

also

I want to put a set of 6x9" in the back, can anyone tell me if they will bolt straight as well ? no need to do any cutting ?

6" splits will fit easy however sometimes you might need to redrill the mounting holes... Not a major task but yes will definatly fit anyway.

As for the 6x9's they are also a straight bolt in, they can be tricky to remove as the stock speakers are quite far back and the rear windscreen comes very close to it.

If you can actually remove the parcel shelf to do it, not hard, just 4 bolts and it should drop down then you can do the job properly.
