I just joined. What a great sight. I love my car it is a 2000 Diamante LS. I have a couple of questions. I saw somewhere that you can program the auto climate control to not change over to fresh air when it is in the auto mode. I don't like the smell of the California freeway, so I want it to stay in recirculation mode. Does anyone know how to program that in? I also wished my door locks would automatically lock when the car is in motion or put in gear. Is that even possible? My transmission sometimes shifts really hard. Is that worn fluid or is it the trans still in hall ass mode? This is all I can think of for know. Oh ya, my car only has 44,000 miles on it. Thanks, John

Hey welcome to the club mate!
I have a 93 TR Magna with a 93 diamante grille and lights (look heaps better than stock)
The only prob I can help you with is your auto problem. To me it sounds like you might be low on fluid. I could be wrong though as I'm not great with the auto's. (Mine's a manual, and my knowledge mainly lies in the 1st gen diamante era).
I think there is some sort of dipstick in the box to check the level?

Howdy.
Are you a member of the Mits Diamante Owners Group? If not then they
also have a good forum in the US hosted my Michael Tomkins on
Diamantes. Its at http://diamante.gweilo.org/forum/index.php
Have fun with the D.
i was reading [fastmagna.com] that giving the auto a few seconds to 'relax' at the traffic lights actually stops it being to punchy.
i have noticed this on my vrx over the past vew days , ive learnt to be a lot lighter on the pedal when at a stop sign etc and going stop-go as it can either slightly hop you thru the intersection with too much power or throw you thru it like the intersection didnt exist :P
im sure ill get use to it seeing its only the 2nd day of driving it and my first auto car. but do take those extra few seconds

My Magna can do automatic door locking, because I've got an aftermarket Car Alarm.
I also can unlock/lock my car from ~100m away, which can be scary at times :D

I don't think it can be done.. but I could be wrong, we've got the Galant and the Evo 6 using the same Climate control system in your car (typical mitsu parts sharing LOL) and I haven't seen or heard of this before.. normally I do it manually by pressing the button..
The reason they automatically change to outside air is because of health reasons, meaning that they change over to outside air after I think around 20mins of recirculating air because the air will get stale in the cabin...
Oh Welcome to the Club :D
My ride is a TJ 2001 Magna Sports Manual, loaded with RPW Gear :D
