Ok what a wonderful day it has been today, finished my last exam, snow at hothem rose by 30cm last night, and i found a really cheap store for all my fiberglassing supplies.

My holiday plan for the next 2 days is to fiberglass a sub box for my boot so i can put my sub in it and take my original mdf box out. Seeing as i'm pretty much wanting to do as Dee has already done but alot different here are my queries.

What is the best direction to face the sub considering it's going to be in the back left side of my ts magna. I was thinking of angling it to point at the ski port so all the bass would go in that general direction. Or should i face it to the rear and rear load it for 20cms? This is surprisingly hard to test because i have no intention to fiberglass more than one enclosure.

And my power cabling and amp to sub wiring does not stretch the the corner of the car so i cannot put my box there to test either.

Also i'm planning on making fiberglass moulds on my door trims for the front speakers, they will be aimed at the opposite side's head rest, any objections or better ideas?

Thanks car audio dudes!

Yup for sheer volume rear load it. You will get increased response down low.

This comes at the cost of lagginess. Bass hits can be slower and more boomy. Also introduces more resonance/rattles from the boot.

Overall unless you have a miniwall i reckon rear loading is an easy way to make use of the giant magna boot.

this is considering my sub is going to be diagonally pointed at my numberplate and only 30cm from the back of the boot right?

So if i was solely looking for on time bass, and not loudness which way should i go?

I can also point it directly to the other side of the car, what effect does this have?

Experiment with your MDF enclosure, point it in all directions you are thinking of and find out..

Fibreglassing is a hard way to go when building an enclosure, you have to make sure that the Fibre glass is thick enough to stop unwanted flex and resonance..
Not to mention Messy..

For Sheer Bass Volume , Rear load it for sure.
For maximum Boot Space, mount it on a Side wall.
Better yet, go Two Subs, Make Two enclosures and go opposite Sides to each other...
