View Full Version : Differences VR vs VR-X ???

I am currently looking at torching my TP Magna (not before time) and upgrading to something a bit newer that wil actually go up hill swithout me pedeling.

Have been looking around and am considering a TL Magna - hopefully a 5spd Tippy AWD in a VR or VR-X...

I was just wondering if anybody could enlighten me regarding the real differences between the two models (the difference which count that is)..

Are there any Inlet, Exhaust, engine or suspension differences or is a basically the Bodykit, Chrome Muffler tip, 17" alloys and the Badge:D :D :D

Reason I am asking is I have found a sweet TL VR AWD with sunroof etc (asking price is a bit high but I can probably bargain that down) but if I have to spend a lot up get it up to a decent mecanical spec then I may have to keep looking for a VR-X..

Any advice would be appreciated

Same engine, gearbox and the suspensions the same I think. The VRX gets teh bodykit, wheels, tip, badge and a better interia and sound system.

In the TL's the AWD did not come in the VRX only VR, The VRX AWD is a TW so there may be some other slight differences in the respective model change from TL to TW, also as far as i understand the AWD's whether it be a VR, VRX even now with the GTV verada AWD all only have 16" wheels from factory (just with different styles). Try using the model comparison on www.carsales.com.au

16" or 17" dosen't make a lot of difference to me, neither does the bodykit etc (I think the VR still looks good).

Really comes down to what is happening under the hood..

Looks like ther is SFA real difference between models.....


Question though....

The Factory sunroof - Are they likely to have rust or leak issues in the future... I always thought sunroofs were just asking for trouble.

Non factory ones, yes AFAIK

the factory one in my 97 verada had been ok. but i dont find any use for it
