I'm looking to expand on my set up with some screens for upcoming shows, What do people reccomend in Motorized In dash monitors?
anything from alpine, necvox, eclipse, clarion etc etc
hop on caraudioaustralia.com always good for cheap screens.
btw, what else would u want with it, GPS, inbuilt tv, dvd, external linking to playstation, piggy back screens?

it means u can hook up more screens...so u can put them into your headrests, or in the boot or whatever.
as for TV and DVD, it means u can have the single unit which will allow u to watch TV and DVDs, without the neeed to buy another unit...makes things neater, coz u don't have like, 2 things in ur dash.
The downside is they're hideously expensive.

not only do you get a 6.5" screen but it can also do satnav, rear view camera thingy, plays cd's, mp3's, dvd's, vcd's and also has a little car thingy that you put in it which can download mp3's and videos n stuff onto it with your PC
If intalled by someone who knows what they are doing it would look really good, especially with a nice painted centre console if you havent already done that

i put a couple of necvox screens in my car ... nice screens though they can get expensive i think from memory the 10.4" roof mount retails at around $1600 and the 7" widescreen is around $900 or so
but well worth the money i think ... i'm happy with mine

What are you going to run into the screen?
im running (will be in weeks..) a vga interface into a small 7" lilliput based tft
I was going to get a in-dash motorized one... but have since decided against it
That and the 7" fits perfectly on the dash :D
ill be running a pc into mine so a vga interface is a must, rca just doesnt cut it at all.
*waits patiently too order his final compentent to the system... dc-dc psu*
:)
have a google for xenarc or lilliput :)

Some of the higher res xenarc or liliput touch sceens look good. Am thinking of doing this as I have a spare laptop. But big dash mods and the question of whether id use it.

i've been thinking about putting a carputer in my car, but ended up being too much of a hassle. ditched the idea. It will be interesting to see what it comes out likke...
there are some crazy buggers on CAA, with fully integrated PCs. I think they control air/heater, lighting, stereo and whatever, plus wireless, so u can upgrade data while parked in ur garage etc...

VGA (Video Graphics Array) is like an input from a monitor into a normal PC which is better quality than video using RCA leads. Using RCA from a PC you will have problems with small font being unreadable. Shouldnt have any problems with using RCA when you just using it for DVD and the like.
