Guys I need a hand kinda quickly.

I was going to buy all new gear for my car but this came up on ebay:
http://search.ebay.com.au/_W0QQsassZmx52nv

I need some insight into gear by focal, Xtant and nakamichi. I know its all top of the range stuff, and I would probably save a bit by buying 2nd hand from this guy (he's in perth too) but would I be better off spending the same money (or maybes a bit more) on phoenix gold TI elites, an Alpine CDA 9855 and a PG or rockford amp?

Would the top end gear have heaps better sound quality and be worth it or should I go for new gear that I can trust hasn't been thrashed?

What can you tell me about these brands?

Help!

Nak make some of the best headunits in terms of quality. Boring as hell, but sound unbeleivable.

No mp3 and all that jazz but for pure sound quality they cant be beat.

Focal make awesome splits and xtant make high quality amps.

How much though???

It's not worth the prices he has there unless you're really into sq. To make any use of these u would need to spend a lot on the install itself otherwise it's money down the drain.

How much will you have left over for the install?

Peace

Tim

I was planning to do most of the stuff myself. I'm pretty into it and keen to have everything done properly and how I want it done. As far as $ go, I'll put up as much as I think I have to to get good sound.

I wasn't so keen on the Nak head unit, due to price and lack of features that I need (and its not very exciting, though it may sound good), but you can imagine how much the alpine unit, rockford sub and PG elites are going to set me back. I just want to know what others would do in my situation?

Its a very real possibility that I could get the focals and the amp, but what would I be getting for my buck? And does second hand mean second best?

A lot of my gear is second hand. Gear will last forever if treated well. And the owner of a nak dare I say would take care of his gear.

Forget the headunit, it's overkill. Speakers should be the primary focus. I'd go a have a listen to them if possible.

Let your ears tell you what's best.

That is nice gear but as the others are saying it is expensive and there is other stufff out there that sounds just as good for less $$$$$$$$$.Vibe Car Audio is really good stuff for SQ and good bass Phoenix gold aswell but PG is a bit pricey for the elite series and as far as i know its just gone up a bit to.
