View Full Version : TL door handles on a TJ?

I have been thinking about replacing my TJ door handles with some off the TL for a smoother look, colour coded look (painted black not plastic black). Has anyone thought about doing this? From what i have seen they should fit in (although it's a pain to get them in and out), or has someone found out otherwise?
I am yet to ring around some wreckers so I may find out that the price is prohibitive.

I have white TL handles fitted to my car. They fit straight in only difference being the smoother look and there is no LH door lock, all i did to fit the LH handle was fit the new handle without the lock and leave the loom unhooked but sealed and tied out of the way.

only problem is it may be difficult to get black ones.. but give it a go for sure it will smooth the look a bit

Do you know roughly how much i'm looking at? I'd like them in black but i can just get them painted body colour.

As i said the other day mate, pity ur car isnt mawson white as i have 2 set that are painted with the chrome still in them. The reason i had 2 sets is cos the paint wasnt flash on the first set (we did it in a hurry 1 friday at work)

Mate there not hard to paint, just a bit fiddly thats all. Make sure you remove the chrome strip b4 ya paint them then refit it. Much better than masking it up, thats why my first set chipped around the strip.
I'll take some pics tonight for ya if ya want
