KKK... beacuase im inthe middle of my exams.. ive decided i need to do something more important.. and change the console... Now it started out with the idea of a simple 7 or 8" dvd screen down the bottom (as a few have done before) and have a sliding cover that comes over it when im parked, but thats no where near enough custom for dee, so ive also decided to try and track down some of those circular air con/heater vents, that i can morph into the top section , and mould some shape into the face by building up some curvey/jagged lines down the sides... all finished off with some really dark grey metal metallic paint (think.. that dark evo 8 color).

but.. im after some more ideas... !! what do people think about brining the console back to the center glove compartment.. so it totally splits the driver/passenger seats? .. ideas people! ideas!!!! doesnt matter how big the idea is... :D

i have thought about doing a custom centre consol where instead of the centre consol around the radio curving back in on itself and then having a different console around the gearshifter etc, just have one big smooth thing all the way down following the contours of the dash.. if that makes any sense..... that would look pretty good i reckon

and like.. raise the console around the shifter? or just.. have a big blank area? I would do that.. if i felt comfortable with rasiing the console around the shifter up to below the base of the radio area.. i might consider it... but im not confident in moving the structual alignments of the shifter.... there are no probs in doing the heater/fan controls etc.. but thats the only area i would strongly feel confident in moving.

i thought u said it was aftermarket cause it was covered in tin foil :S its stock, and with tin foil covering it from spillages...

but im not getting many ideas from you lot...perhaps there isnt much we can do to the magna console.

I was thinking of doing the area around the dash fibreglassed so the passenger would have a screen molded into the dash type of thing.

Can I just ask how you are going to stick it on once you have made the mould??? I am going to do the same for mine except put the screen where the deck is and put the deck down the bottom to cut out the glare... I guess that is kind of a suggestion :D

By the way nice job on the fibreglassing i have been doing a bit myself but it looks like you have alot more spare time then i do... I hate working 6 days a week :confused: :confused: :confused:

i'd look at some very fine double sided sticky taped sheets. I will go around the corners with the FG, so you dont see any of the stickyness ... although there is some fine spray on glue around.. depends on how thick it gets..

but in regards to the placement of the tft screen... i would think that i would loose the viewing angle.. if it sits parallel to the face of the console.. dodgy view??... (as this isnt going to be a dvd that slides out of a UNIT. ). .. although.. if i were to place it higher, i could always have its base slide out a little... hmmm.. i will have to think about that..

spare time.. no time is ever spare :D. i work 30 hours a week while studying a double degree at uni... todays few hours was called 'procrastinational hobby' time ;)
