hey,

just went in to have a chat to my local exhaust lad about a new exhaust for the TH

he said you have to be careful because they can resonate and sound tinny and crap if its done wrong..

i told him i wasnted something that was throaty and sounded good under load, but dosent drone @ 100km/h

he was trying to selll me some Berklee muffler that are made in Ballarat, attached to a dump pipe...

has any1 had any experience with these mufflers or is their a better solution around???

another thing i was wondering is how much would it cost to have the back bar hacked into and have the exhaust coming straight out, rather than haveing a dump pipe....????? i dunno,,, id just rather have it coming straight out.. i rekon it would look classier

cheers

he was going to charge me $300 for all parts and fitment

upgrade to 2.5" exhaust for the noise, always have 2 resonators fitted to stop it from droning or sounding tinny... as for rear mufflers, if you want it loudish go for xforce or magnaflow. if you want it quiet go for lukey or redback. dunno about the berklee's

price varies to much to quote, shop around.

I've got a Berkley PEX 2.5". Getting another one in a fortnight :D Just to balance the rear out...

Cut the bumper yourself. Dremel, grinder, whatever. Just cut enough room to get the pipe and tip thru clear of the bumper or heat and carbon will really mess it up. You can tidy the cut up later when you get time and tools. Make a template with cardboard etc and mark using black texta where you want the final cut. Make 110% sure it's level etc. Hold the cardboard in place with sticky tape 1st and step back and make sure you're happy with the angle etc before marking it out and performing the finishing cuts. Be conservative - easy to remove plastic, hard to put back ;)

What have you been quoted?

I got screwed when I bought mine  I parted with $450 for 3" cat back, 18" resonator, PEX and tip, fitted.

PM sent and another pic ;)
