Looking at getting one on-line tonight, I have Pioneers splits up the front and Pioneer 6 x 9's in the back. I'm looking for something that is great value for money.

Jaycar product code is AA0426.

As I am new to the car audio game, would I want to amp both the splits and the 6 x 9's?

Any advice would be great.

Cheers!

Always better to use an amp than the headunit then in time you can easily get a small sub and run the rears off the headunit.

How much you gonna spend on the jaycar?

My mates got one, hasnt installed it yet, they look pretty bling

Cool theres a few ppl around selling them at cost price or closer to that, my mate picked up his for $240. Check Car audio australia maybe. (www.caraudioaustralia.com) I think "Jamo" was selling a few.

I have (2) 2x100W Jaycar Responses. One for the 6x9's and one for 6.5" in the front. I'm quite happy with them. Looking in the near future to get rid of one in the boot and swap for a 4x100W + sub.

They are fairly good value for money, they're not anything competition, but they make the music alot louder, and don't distort until it's fairly loud. Good Luck!

Thanks for the comments guys, would I be ok running the splits and 6 x 9's off of a 4ch Jaycar amp or should I get 2 x 2 channel amps?

Cheers,

4channel... one lot of wiring, one lot of spaced used, room to expand.

Also look at the Audison SRx4 (www.audison.com). I love Audison :bowrofl:

I got one in the back of my car, 300 bucks, 400 watts who can complain :) It certainly does the job and I can't pick any problems with it, it's not going to be a SQ machine but doesn't give any hickups never gets hot. The 400wrms is also at 12v at 14.4v there more like 120 a channel so yeah they can power some rugged stuff.

You will find all jaycar gear to be rated at 14.4V. What they do is under-rate there amps a little to make sure anyone who does a bench test @ 14.4V can just pip the figures.

Good example is the old 4x 100W was tested and actually made 4x 124W. Same with the new mono block 820W x 1 @ 1ohm is actually producing 900 - 1kw @ 1ohm 14.4V.
Pity the S/N and damping stayed the same from the old series :doubt:

Well in the catalogue I've got in front of me, they're rated at 12v, and they have the 14.4v output in the specs below as well.

The specs are actually for 13V (or so the guy told me), so they will be pretty much the same off your car battery which will run between 12-13V.
