Hey everyone,

I drive a KR Verada, with 280k on the clock. When I picked it up, about 18 months ago, it'd shift abnormally when cold, and I thought "oh well, it's old, these things happen".

Since then, it's developed a crunch in the steering, particularly when turning left, and the strange shift pattern is still evident, like, starting off, in 1st, it'll rise to 2500~3000rpm, shift to 2nd, then drop back into 1st, rev out to about 3000rpm, and settle back into second. Also, when starting off on a moderate descent, the car will feel like it's fumbling for a gear, then what feels like a great hand pushes down on the front of the car, everything sorts itself out and away I go.

It went in for a full transmission service about 12 months ago, but I have serious doubts about whether anything actually happened...

Is something majorly wrong? Am I about to run out of money very quickly?

edit* sorry your new around here... welcome :S . ignore me - learn like the others have.

have a mechanic check your computer for error codes. then if nothing turns up take it to a recomended gearbox crew (ask for advice for one on here) and tell him your situation. ask him to take a quick fang around the block and tell you what he thinks.
