As i am having my windows tinted at the moment i had to take the door trims off and so ive been havign a look around. Now i would like to put a fairly decent system into the old girl with a minimum of cutting into body work...
What i had in mind was putting speakers into the doors but on a proper look it appears that it wont be all that easy as there are no spots for them...
Hypothetically i was thinking of putting in splits up the front (either int eh door or in the original spot - how big can i fit in here?), 6 inch roudn speakers in the rear parcel shelf - which will be beefed up with some MDF, and then put at least one sub in the back with the box cut around the ski port as i still use the boot for work and the hole for my snowboard...
Is this possible - what have other SE owners done in this regard? i have searched the forums but to no real avail for the SE.. and as they say piccies are even better!
this is what i did...

not pictured is my 12" pioneer sub and sony amp...
feel free to ask questions :)

from my understanding, theres **** all thatll fit into the dash to replace the stock ones.
and im pretty sure some spacers for your speakers on the doors will do fine.
nice pimped out car BCX7 :P

How big are they 3,4 inches? if i decied to put them around the middle of the door in the little hole there - apart form the head ache of makig them fit is there anything else to be wary of?

Also - i notice BCX7 that you have pout the speakers where the map pocklets are - as i want to keep them is there any other options?
i guess i just decided that i didn't want them - i'd rather sound than map holders... my road map sits in the pouch on the back of the drivers or passengers seat...
i dunno what other options there are other than getting rid of the map holders... i never really thought about it though... i just wanted to get the speakers in

Fair comment too - i never even thought to use the pouches behind the seats - i might be forced to put them there in the end anyway - what do you guys think of putting tweeters in the stock speaker locations in the dash? good bad or ugly?

depends, if you like what it sounds like when they are sitting there, then do it... it's a trial and error thing...
for my tweeters i just put then where they are cos it was easy but at the same time, i had the speakers installed and i was holding the tweeter and seeing where it would sound good from... so a bit of both reasons ended up with my tweeters where they are now
