Hey guys just a few questions before i call a service station for a check up
my car is running on the hot side of the centre mark and i was wondering if there was anything i have missed, i have checked all the fluids as i usually do and i have checked for any signs of leakage...everything seems to be normal.
Now is there anything i have missed in checking for signs of why it could be running a bit hot? would getting the radiator flushed fix the problem?
i was speaking to one of the guys off the forum and he said there may be a blockage in the pipes, is there any way to check or find out whether there is any blockages?
anyways thanks in advance, just wanted some info before i go wasting money on a pro to do something i could possibly do.
Chris ;)

slightly above half way is normal man, mine sits there all the time even if im thrashing it or driving on a normal day
your thermostate might be ****ed and what the other forum mentioned, something clogged up in the pipes
or your fans arnt turning on properly and at the correct time, mine also had this problem

Needle should sit exactly half way. Could be a blockage, might not have enough coolant in your radiator? (as in too much water, not enough green stuff :P). Radiator flush will be good for it. If your car still operates normally then i dont see it being a big problem, i think alot of people have theirs sitting just over half way.

Booked in the radiator to get serviced...he said that the top tank on the Ts can get quite brittle and may need to be replaced so we'll see what happens

well....just got my car back from the shop..Leo's Radiators in osbourne park btw, great customer service..explained everything to me
basically i was lucky i took my car in to get checked when i did, the whole radiator was fked..he showed me the core which was burnt out in places towards the edges, he also said that i originally had the wrong radiator in there, the one i had in was a single core when i should have had a double core since my car has a/c..the dude said that it still works but wears much faster with only a single core.
All i can say is that im extremely lucky that i got it before things came back and i had a meltdown on the head gasket!! $455 for a new radiator and for it to be checked out is worth it..runs 100x better than before now anyways and pin never goes over half way even when its being thrashed (in winter conditions)

Yeah i was gona say if your getting temps over half in this current weather you have problems. Here in Adealaide its been constantly raining with most days being around 15degrees and my magna struggles to get close to half way even with constant start stop city driving.
If im driving at a constant speed with minimal stops it drops to less than a quater (especially a night).

yeah thats why i thought that it was havin problems in the first place..
it now doesn't go to half way even when i thrashed it and just then was running around a quarter at normal driving
guess its just a warning to others that prevention is better than having to pay the big bucks later
