2nd gen 1992, i think im running out of power steering fluid, it says to use approved fluid only on the lid.

Should i just go down to repco and grab any power steering fluid or is there one in particular i should look for, thanks.

Where should i fill it upto aswell.

You'd prob find that the original power steering fluid that was used when these cars came out has been superceded by newer stuff.

I have never found any problems with castrol or valvoline standard power steering fluid. I have Valvoline in my car now.

On the little dipstick under the cap, the level should be between "cold full" and "hot full" when the resivoir feels walm. (higher or lower depending on fluid temp)
Don't fill the resivoir more than half way up the white strainer, engine running. The fluid needs the room to expand when it gets hot, over fill it and you will find a mess under the bonnet.
Just make sure that the fluid isn't foamy and pink when you are checking the level, if it is foamy after you top it up then let the car idle for a few minutes to work the air bubbles out of the fluid then move the steering from lock to lock to get any air pockets out of the rack once the fluid is dark. Then recheck the level.

yeah and green cordial for coolant too.

using cordial in cars sounds like something a "shonky" used car dealer would do to cut costs. :bowrofl:

As long as it meets the specifications (Dexron III? or something?) it'll be fine.
