most bmws, integras and lexus have these types of headlights globes. they light up soooo brrrrrilliant, brrrrrright white beam, they really look different from halogen bulbs. What are they called? $$$?? is there one for magnas?

I have a set in my magna of white xenon globes, (20 bucks of ebay). They are great, except they at 90/100w, so arent exactly legal, but look rather hot. I wanna find some 55/100w white globes

They are Xenon HID (High Intensity Discharge) globes within a projector housing.

The one Fuzzlet is talking about are just ordinary globes with Xenon instead of Halogen gas, not the HID ones.

There are none specifically for Magna's, but one can retrofit HID lamps but are not recommended due to the way light beams are emitted due to the design of the existing reflectors (very high chance it will distract oncoming vehicles), and they are illegal and can be defected.

Okay if these are illegal and may not suit the Magna headlights... are the parabolic Verada types better/brighter than the stockies ?

I have a set ready to put on anyway (coz I like them) but was just wondering if they were actually better in brightness/distance/etc. anyway - also it may be an answer/alternative for 'terry'.

Yeah, I'm slack - still haven't put them on.

Well I've done the conversion from the standard Magna headlights to the Verada style parabolic ones, and my opinion is yes, they do appear brighter. However I may be biased, maybe my old set of headlights were incorrectly adjusted.

Apart from being brighter, it does add a bit more class to the appearance of the car.

The verada lights on the 2nd gen look SO much more agressive. Im going to fit the good xenon bulbs when I get a chance cause I regularly drive a few realy dark stretches of road.

I can 'confirm' this. The low beam on my standard headlights was reasonable, and high beam did the job. Well with the new parabolic lenses, but same globes from old headlights, the low beam was excellent, and high beam even better. They are useful, and look good. With the new bulbs, Ive angled the lights down slightly (had one headlight with the 55w globe, and other with the 90, angled the 90 down to suit the 55, changed the 55 to a 90, then brought it down) so that it wont blind ppl. I more want it for 1), the white colour (is it possible to get white 55/60s or 55/100s or so?) and 2) Brighter high beam
