When i was in vic park mitsubishi today saw this beautiful red ralliart!
I almost died at the price $35,999!!!!!!!with 14,000 on the clock.TipTronic though but still good!.Was in excellent condition,of course! Then i go over the road and take a look at a black ralliart, also tiptronic which to my amazement was $40,999,and on the price tag it said it was "performance enhanced" 180kwatzz.Then right next to it was a VR-X for $36,000 WTF??? is going on?????since when is a vr-x MORE than a ralliart????Are'nt ALL Ralliart magnas meant to be 180 kwattz???So if any1 here could give us an idea why the red ralliart did'nt have this description too would help(maybe pulled out the performance chip???)Here's a pic of a white ralliart, but just think of it as red

Are they both from the same dealership? If not, it's just advertising ploy used on that cars.. All Ralliart Magnas are rated 180kws but I've seen some that are "Enhanced" to Ralliart Versions but are actually the base executive models... So look out for "Imitations"

How can u tell they are imitations anyway? This 1 looked genuine enough i think. The black 1 was from the new side and the red ralliart was on the used side, but still the sam dealership any way
Strange considering the black 1 only did 2,000 k's less than the red 1.

there will be a Ralliart build plate on it somewhere.... and there are quite a few differences inside as well... ralliart specific bits and pieces.... there is bound to be somewhere that will tell you want the differences are....... (hey blake isnt that your job!
I hate the front ends of the Ralliart.
The wheels dont do much for them either..
Yeah yeah.. theyre ENKI .. theyre ENKI

Hi I might be able to shed some light on the cheap ralliart Magnas. Just a little while ago a heap of evaluation vehicles, yes the cars that would be given to the press came up for sale at auction. The oldest one the was plated late 2001. Most of these cars had about the 15000 km on them but hey were not easy km.
I sell new Mitsubishi's and was lucky to be a Ralliart Salesman we cained the hell out of these cars.
At this point you cant buy some of the bits unless you can give a body number similar to HSV clubies used to be?

Yeah and that is rather easy to do, especially when you are a Ralliart dealer. The car vin though has to be off a car that is registered on the road, if it's a showroom car it will still show up. Heck my boss drives one rather easy to get a vin.
Of course don't mean the parts will be in Australia.
We have a couple of second hand ones around the $36,000-39,000 mark and they are not press cars.

letting the ralliarts be used as 'company' cars could also be a marketing stragety on its own. think about it. more on road = public awareness = possible enquires that lead to sales??
that could also be the reason for that.
oh, plus mistu did a sh1t job advertising the ralliart. to be quiet honest, if i didnt read it in mags, i dont even think i wouldof know it existed
i dont reacall, seeing one tv ad, one newspaper ad, or any sort of ad! not even in the motoring mags

Mitsu's marketing is shithouse. I hardly ever see that TV ad for the TL VRX anymore. I never saw any advertising for the Ralliart Magna. I am still yet to see any decent advertising about the AWD (what the hell is with the TJ AWD on a Superglue pack - not effictive imho). And I'm still not seeing enough advertising for the TL, no matter what people think of it.
Mitsubishi wonders why people arnt flocking to their showrooms. The real reason is that not many people are aware what they have.

mmm.. what is Broucher? I know what a brochure is.
I think the Ralliart people always held back on the brochures. So pimply faced teenagers having a wet dream look at their dream car didn't clean them out of brochures in the first month. You only got one if the dealer thought they were close to a sale.??? :)

Hi Magnart,
I bought my Ralliart new from Skipper Mitsubishi in August 2003. If you have been looking in the new car showroom you must have seen it - pewter manual with sunroof.
I drove that baby away with 50Kms on the clock for $39,500 including on road costs. Considering the list price was $48,990 + $1,850 for the sunroof + on roads, I reckon I did very well.
I have since moved to South Australia. Unfortunately the roads here are no match for Perth with regards to condition and the ability to just get up and cruise. Red lights and spoon drains everywhere. I really miss the freeway and the Polly Farmer tunnel.
I have a couple of very reliable senior sources inside Mitsubishi who gave me the lowdown on what happened to the Ralliart project:
"The Ralliart was a poor seller due to lack of marketing funds. The ralliart project was greenlighted on the basis that the business plan could at least break even. A plan was submitted and signed off that did just that, but it did not include any money towards marketing. Therefore the car was not advertised or launched in any way to the general public, and sales results were way below expectations. Mitsubishi planned to build and sell 1000 per year, and after the first 9 months had sold approx 250".
Mitsubishi were stuck with heaps of them lined up at the factory until just recently. Now just about all of them have been leased to employees as company cars. So over the next three to six months there will be many low kilometre Ralliarts leaving Mitsubishi as the fleet gets turned over. I believe the general public can access these cars through their local dealerships. The cars get fully checked out and refurbished prior to delivery. They come with a full 3 year warranty too. If you want me to find out more, I will ask my source inside Mitsubishi.
As for the AWD's lack of market prescence, I was told that it came out 6 months behind schedule. This placed its launch only six weeks before the scheduled run out of the TJ model. As such it was decided to hold off any advertising of AWD until the new model came out.
Cheers,
Mark

Thanx for the info man!
Good job on ur buy aswell!
They probably should have really pushed to get the ralliart on the market, considering it's Magna's flagship/Best model they have,i really don't justify Why they did'nt :?:

seen several ralliarts in the papers/dealers (melb mostly) over the last few weeks for around $31 or $32 ... with only 8,000 to 12,000 k's on em.
i've heard the same story as Mark... that they had a whole warehouse of em that they couldnt sell... so they gave them all to employees as packaged lease cars for peanuts....
and its those ones coming onto the market now... with stuff all k's on em.
Odd results is they often advertising for cheaper than vrx' and even some awd sports !!!
