Hi All,

I am trying to slow my idle speed, it sits quite high at the moment. Someone pointed me in the direction of removing the ISC assembly, then adjusting the idle screws on the t/b.

Car is (essentially) a TN Magna EFI.

Is this the best way to do it?

Cheers,

Tim. :)

Check for air leaks on the intake (underneath the intake pipe too - get your hands dirty) piping and vacuum lines. Anything between the MAS and the plenum at least. Leak in the intake manifold system maybe present - check for sucking noises along the entire intake system with the engine running.

Check the idle control screw is fully screwed in. Have you been fiddling with your TB? Start here first. Is acceleration and deceleration of the engine (in neutral) ok? No stammering or back firing  ??

I will check for air leaks when i'm home from work, has anyone had any problems unplugging the ISC assembly?

Cheers,

Tim.

Yes. You'll find that some first gens really don't have any tolerance for defective parts. (IE, won't start, or won't run.)
