Ok guys heres the deal iv already got some pioneer competition 250W (i think) compentent or coaxial (woteva they is called) in the front at the moment. But im thinking of getting rid of my 6 * 9's as i carry a lot of passengers i want to have some good sound in the back as well and replacing these with some kicker splits i have at home not getting used.
Would this work and should i put the pioneers in the rear and the kickers in the front?
They will both be amps from a jaycar 4 * 100W RMS amp if i get one next week.
Should i still use the rear as just fill or should i have it so you can hear both?
all help appreciated

Best sounding speakers in the front for sure with the most amplification they need to sound good.
Then dregs at the back with whatever amplification u have left (off headunit is fine)

so putting splits in the rear wont be worth it u reken?
the kickers are less powerfull put prob sound better cause they are a split system, but havnt had a chance to test them properly yet but i assume they will be clearer than the pioneers just have to mount the tweeters. I swear iv taken my car door off more times than iv driven the thing...

Definetly put them in the front. Your ears point forward...
I dont run rears atm
Mount the tweeters low, next to the woofer, pointing towards the opposite listener, play around with angles around 45 degrees if you have to.
This will result in smaller path difference (Sound will be more centred)

testing begins this weeknd then...
so are you saying im best to just put some cheap 6 * 9's in the rear or leave my current ones in there rather than putting splits or compenent speakers in there?

Obviously splits would be better there. But Im just saying you should spend ur money in the areas that will see most benefit.
In terms of rear fill, stock is fine until you upgrade your fronts. Any money spent on rears would be better spent on the fronts, or amplification for fronts or deadening/door preparation for better midbass from the front.
Only after that is all done will it be worth investing in upgrading rear fill.
You will get more enjoyment imo from having them where you can hear them and appreciate them on axis with your ears facing them.
Try out diff positions with blu tack, things you should look out for.
-Separation of high and low frequencies from the tweeter being mounted too far from the woofer = bad...
-With the balance in the centre, try and find a position that sounds as central as possible. This will be the position with the smallest path difference between the left and right tweeter (usually as deep as possible in the kick panels)
-As far from the listeners ears will give the deepest stage
Good luck

To Quote an Old hand at Car audio " It is best to have the same speakers up front as you do down the back "
I.E.. Splits front and rear..
You intend on a Boot install??
Follow the most common path that seems to be taking over the car audio world and run Fronts and Subs with no rears at all.....

I hope you boot install will be worthy of the " Magna Boot Hall of Fame " ??
Cannot wait to see the End result..
Good luck with it all. Just remember to keep access to your spare tyre as the last thing you want is to get a flat and not be able to repair it..

will it be worthy.... :doubt: itll make its own hall of fame lol
should be good if the ideas work out after a few hrs last night of measuring and doing the technical drawings i have it fitting to the millimetre, well thats with my measurements.
might post some progress pics up on the weeknd, but wont have the glass for another week as im waiting for a mate to cut it for me. Got my CCFL's today which are part of the install so ill see how it looks without the glass hopefully on the weeknd. Also getting 2 new amps to make the install a bit cleaner too.
Spare tyre comes out perfectly, got millimetres to spare but we can get it out so everyone is a happy camper. Reminds me i must put my jack back in the car....
cheers

I have Eclipse 2-way 6x9s (point-source series) in the parcel shelf and Eclipse 2-way Splits (point-source series) mounted on axis in the rear doors. This makes for some great rear fill and gives the rear passengers a front stage - see attached pics.
Next will be my centre-channel speaker, DSP & EQ followed by the subs!

What the? Is there provisions (or already speakers) in the rear doors of the Ralliart...or have you put those in...they look sorta stock I suppose.....Except they are a bit high up...could be further down in the door....where the ones in the front are...

If they were any further down it would be hard to get the sound up from the foot wells to were your ears are, besides you cant cut a hole in the door any lower than that because of were the motor/mechanism for the electric windows is mounted.
That said, this is only a temporary measure. When money permits the doors trims will be subjected to a major refabrication/redesign process to make them look even better. :D

:D
From that I am gathering they are not stock? So you hacked your trim? How did you mount them?

No they're not stock speaker positions, used some mdf rings to mount the speakers on axis and covered up any holes with sound deadning.
