Hey guys,
Anyone who has a dual 12" boot install in their 2nd gen, could you please show us a pic of it?
What i'm planning on doing is keeping my 2 sub boxes, but making like a piece of wood covered with boot carpet go over the front of them with 12" holes cut out of course so you can see the actual woofer, with the woofer pointing towards the boot lid. Would this look ok? Or maybe even cover up the subs completely by facing them towards the cabin like they are now, and puitting a piece of wood covered in carpet over the back of the 2 boxes, and mount my 2 amps there. hmmm.
Open to any ideas atm guys :).

theres a thread full of ppl's boot installs...... why dont u browse thru that
maaaaaaaattteeee!!
yeah, i think u should fibreglass something cool. Corner load the subs, chuck them behind ur tailights.
then for ur amps, fibreglass up something else, amp rack, and chuck a glass panel on top of the amps.
sikk..fullyly!
Yeah, you wanted to mount ur subs facing upwards? I have no idea how that would sound.

hheehe, u did say u wanted pics
as for u proposal, it sounds reasonable.
i'd mount ur amps somewhere else rather than the back of ur sub box...it can kill ur amp over some time...esp the solder joints

I have the same concept, messy box, covered with wiring... then the cover over the front and back with the two windows for the subs and the 12" holes...
Works a treat, but best part is, it's easy to remove/install and you can get ur box volume exact...
Also leaves room for amps/components/wiring all hidden out of view.
Peace

floor mounting your subs will take up more boot space as you will be unable to place anything over the top of where the subs are..
2nd. Your subs will fire straight up your boot lid will rattle badly.
3rd. These types of layouts require a huge amount of work and calculating to make sure each sub gets the correct amount of air cavity behind them..

I'm not planning on floor mounting my subs, I gotta work out how i'm gonna fit in the subs and amp, as the subs are in boxes, whether i make a neat cover for them or not i'm not sure.
I know this has probably been asked but is there much difference between having the subs facing towards the cabin or towards the boot?

Autobarn in Mt. Gambier told me that your better off having subs facing outta the boot...

Ok Simple Answer..
In a Sedan with a Large boot you will get more Bass at the cost of delay by mounting the cone side toward the rear of the car, Rear loading will equal louder bass, more boot rattles and less cone noise from the actual sub
Front Loading, firing the sub directly into the cabin, will result in less Boomy Bass, more cone noise, Less boot rattles and lless delay..
Me , I prefer rear loading, it cancels out Cone noise, Looks better when you pop the Boot and the Bass is Superior for R&B... Thats just my opinion any way .. :D
