I am not a traditional magna driver. I wan't to lift my TR magna without making anything too expensive!? Has anyone done it? Does anyone know anything? Is anyone a mechanic with a bit of knowledge to share!?
I'd love to hear some responses!

Are you saying you want to raise the ride height of your Magna?
WHY?

WELL..im going to presume that your Magna is absolutly slammed and your over it being low.. SO id suggest trying to get your hands on some standard springs.. Someone on here would have some lying around..
But if your car is standard height and you want to bring it up more then i dunno mate, thats out there

okay okay... the crazy man will try and explain himself!
I do a lot of driving on rough dirt roads... and I have a love of driving really fast on dirt... at this speed, on a dirt surface it doesn't give you much time to avoid things like rocks / ditches... and I have bottomed out/hit the sump on a few occasions!
The other thing is I like to be different!
and the car is currently at standard height (though slightly sagged... copped a bit of a punishing)

ok im with you now... i wouldn't raise the car id get some springs, at the same ride height, with a higher spring rate (make it real stiff).. could also look at getting some tougher shocks aswell

well seeying as your in Vic head down to your local Pedders and they will hook you up with some "raised" springs suitable for offroad ground clearance...

I raised a Commodore wagon I used to own for exactly the same reasons.
I fitted Pedders heavy duty 1 inch raised springs and pedders struts to suit, all round
I also fitted a heavy duty front sway bar and a camber/caster adjustment kit to the front so I could get the wheel alignment correct again after raising the suspension. I found that this setup handled far better than a stock commodore (not hard... I know) but it was also pretty stiff and had very little body roll.
Having pulled magna struts apart before I would suggest that you try to get struts with longer travel to suit your car

I bought the suspension parts through a local Pedders reseller, including every bush in the suspension. I bought the camber/caster adjuster kit for $250 direct from Kmac in Sydney.
All up it was pretty close to $1100.
