:ok..so i just put my TB back in today after hi-flowing it..and in my haste to get it out, took the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR off the TB instead of uncliping the clip and leaving the sensor attached(didnt know what it was at the time, and the clip was being a *****)
so ive looked at the workshop manual CD and setting of it seems VERY complicated and specific
the car SEEMS to run ok... do i need to get it adjusted properly? a job for a MM workshop,or can my local grease money do it?
thanks

Do a search of the forum about TPS.There should be something quiet recent. It will say to put a 14mm spacer between the throttle lever and stop (I used a 10c piece). Then pull the plug of the TPS and connect a multi meter between two of the four pins on the TPS (the post will say which ones).Turn the TPS anti clockwise to get continuity? and turn it clockwise till continuity? drops off and then tighten up the TPS.All done, retrieve 10c piece :D

Make a VERY accurate note of where the TPS is located at present. Mark it with a pencil or texta on the TB etc.
Ok. With the TB installed on the motor and standing at the front of the car, slacken the two bolts on the TPS JUST enuf for it to rotate with some sticking.
Rotate the TPS fully clockwise. Now rotate it anticlockwise about 1.5mm. Tighten the bolts.
Put the car in Park or neutral for a manual. Secure the handbrake.\
Turn on the car. Let it idle.
With the car running, stand to the side of the enginebay and rev the car using the throttle body lever that the throttle cable connects to. Only rev a little.
How did it sound? Smooth? If it sounded smooth and strong, rev it a little higher. Listen to the engine on the acceleration and decelleration phase. It must sound good during both phases or it needs to be further adjusted.
If it didn't sound as good as it could, loosen the TPS and rotate anticlockwise another millimetre MAX. Repeat the above revving procedure. You can leave the car running during the TPS movement - just remember to move it only VERY SLIGHTLY.
You will find a location of best fit for ACCELERATION and DECELERATION. Carefully tighten the bolts.
Make sure car drives ok.
Get it properly recalibrated next time it's serviced to precisely fine tune it. I adjusted mine by hand and checked it with a multimeter and it was perfect! Lucky guess? Maybe.
PM if you're still struggling. Hope this helps.
