Hi Guyz.
I have a TP magna 2.6 auto.
I noticed last night that it is losing some water.
I travel from the Gold Coast to brissy every day and topped her up before I left, before travelling home I checked the level in the radiator, it needed about 600mls, the overflow bottle was still full though.

any ideas, its not over heating, and it runs perfectly.

any simple ways of pressure testing it yourself, or obvious places to look for leakages, do's and don't etc.

Cheers in advance.

Any water in the oil? Any white smoke from the exhaust?

Nope, not a drop of water in the oil (dip stick or in rocker cover) and no white smoke...

How you going buddy,

I quote you one those comments in your question.

"the overflow bottle was still full though" <- it should not be to the top of the overflow bottle should be less then half way full, that is why you have the spill over hose on the radiator bottle, so the overflow is just the excess water/coolant you have put in and this is a normal affect.

The car is running perfect because there is enough water going to the radiator and this is not a overheating problem.

I would only be worried if you fill the bottle half way from the morning, drive for a bit, when you get home ALL the water is gone.

cheers, hope this helps and explains...

Dont put an egg in there...

If it is not leaking...No water under the car... but you have water or for that fact to much in your overflow bottle, check you radiator cap it may not it may not be allowing water to return to the radiator when it cools down...

i.e when your Rad gets to operating temp water expands empting into the overflow bottle, under normal conditions if the cap is working as is should as the motor cools it draws water back into the rad thru vacuum, but if the cap is faulty it will not draw the water back as it should....

check to see if the cap's rubber is not folded over the edges of the cap....

hope this helps....
