Driving home from work last night I noticed the power steering started making a whining sound, I could feel this too through the wheel. Also if I brake hard it made the sound as well. Some kind of hydraulic issue. What are your thoughts?

I get the same whining noise in my power steering too. Had Mitsubishi look at it, needs a new power steering pump and assembly apparently.. Big bucks!

ouch... i just took it in, power steering fluid was very low, the bloke filled it up for me. Free of charge. Good as now :)
