Ok, This is my first post, so hello all and might i add great forum.

I had my auto tranny flushed last week, today i decided to check the fluid levels. I was very suprised to find that on a stone cold engine, the fluid level was above the hot mark....(Almost up to the end of the 'check when hot' mark on the dipstick.
my dipstick goes something like this
| cold___ | hot | check when hot* its up to the end of here !.

Now i got the transmission flushed to try and fix shifting problems i was having, it seems to be slightly better....but still has problems....would the high fluid level be the culprit....it does seem excessively high

Should i take it back and make them do a proper job?

Thanks,
Braverbug

Id take it back and get some drained.

You may find youll have trans fluid coming out of the dipstick if it gets hot or too hot.

Have they put in the right oil aswell?

Check tranny fluid levels when warm, after driving 15-20 mins and in neutral, there's no point in checking it when it's cold. The car has to be A) Running in neutral while you check it or B) within 10-20 secs of turning the motor off, i Know A - applies to holden and B) applies to ford, not too sure with mitsi, but it won't give a correct reading when cold, i know that

Thanks for the replys guys....
Checked the fluid when it was hot and it was still way up the dipstick, so i decided to take it down to the transmission shop.
They took a full 2L out of the transmission!!.

Moral of the story...always check work which has been done to your car

Anyway thanks again for the quick replys
