Ask a decent car stereo installer, they normally have the proper stuff on rolls and will sell you a couple of metres for far less than you's pay for domestic carpet.

got it down to $25 a metre for marine type carpet 3mm thick but i need about 3 metres so i dont wanna pay that much

Bunnings etc have big rolls of it. I forget the price...

they quotted me $30 a metre, 2.5metres wide
i think ill go with this as i should only need 2 metres to cover all the gear i want
