I'm wanting to paint my console, but i'm worried about re-sale. and drawing people away from when i DO want to sell it. What i really want is the full woodgrain trim from the KS Verada Xi, but it isn't cheap. anyone had any re-sale problems with a painted interior

Cheers

nothing stopping you painting it black when you want to sell

You can actually get them done instead of getting them out of a Verada. I sent all of mine away to get them done in the woodgrain finish as soon as I bought it....although painting them yourself would be a lot cheaper!

As long as you do it properly, I don't think it would decrease the value of it. I've seen a brand new Ralliart Magna that had most if the trim bits painted in the same color as the car (it was a dealer special).

MagnaLE, where did you send them, how long did it take, and was it pricey? How much?

This sounds very tempting :D :D

cheers

I can't find the thread at the moment, but you should check out GaMiSou 's console...it looks awesome!

I sent mine away to Burg Design (who actually sent them away to some other place). Check them out at www.burgdesign.com.au

From memory it was around $780 all up. That was the complete centre console, centre and side air vents, elec window swithches, dash facia surround and elec mirror switch surround.

It took a while though...about 4 weeks.

painting stuff like that does affect the resale value...if not it will either win the buyer over or make them not want to buy your car....as soon as you start spraying bits different colours it may conflict with the buyers "taste" in colour/style etc. but if you find the right buyer it may be "worth" something to them......

dealers can spray stuff because they give out the image that "they know what they are doing" even if it isnt true

That's why I sent mine away to be done! The woodgrain trim bits out of the Verada are not made with that effect. They're made black, and then they're painted!

If you go to the site www.burgdesign.com.au, there is some wooden trim thing there for like $65. Maybe that'll fit? Worth a look.

That's what I had on mine. I didn't like it much 'cause it leaves a lot of the black plastic still exposed.
