just wondering if u could run my engine using the coil and distrubuter from a carby car

that is to say be able to use the carbys igntion and have the ecu controlling fuel yet not iginition

Why would you want to?

I dont thinki you would be able to somehow, the carby distributor has vaccum lines coming off it and stuff, it could get complicated. And i think you would have to set the ECU up NOT to run ignition.

It may run but the ECU should go into limp mode - no crank angle sensor signal from the dizzy (and maybe even some other sensors in there, I do not know).

Frankly though - why would you not want the ECU to control ignition as well as fuel delivery?
