I had a full transmission flush done today and the people who did it took off the cold air colector that goes from air box to near radiator.
They forgot to put it back on and i didnt know. I was driving home and everything seems normal. When i put my foot down to torque the motor and get it revving, it was making a strange noise. I didnt know what it was until i poped the hood. I went back and got the pipe.

The induction sound with the pipe off sounds hot. A real throaty induction noise only when pushing it hard.

I'm guessing it is a similar sound to all you guys with pod filters. I'm going to put it back on because it will be sucking hot engine air into filter and it looks average with it off. The car did seem to go slightly better being it seemed to rev more freely.

Just thought i would let you guys know.

Here is a pic with the pipe off.

Yeah ive taken my pipe off and had a 90mm plumber adaptor sitting in the box at the moment, waiting for me to get off my ass and get some 90mm pipe, i love the sound, reminds me of wrx's and boxer engines. It gave me bit of lower end torque also, well feels that way anyway
I say keep it off and enjoy the sound, but its your car not mine
