I've only recently revved my engine with the door open so I can hear the exhaust, the exhaust seems fine from in the car, but with the door open I hear a bit of flutter or pulsations from the exhaust, I don't know what words I can use to describe it...it does not sound fully smooth...I want to know from other VR-X owners what it's supposed to sound like...

to be more specific, the exhaust pulsations occur once I let my foot off the accel and the revs drop..

How many kms have you done... the first 1500-2000kms are the running in kms so the exhaust needs time to get seasoned to a better tune :D

I've done almost 2400kms

Im not sure about mine either. dunno if its the exhaust though. When the car is cold i get a bit of a tinny noise happening, though once its warmed up it purrs nicely

yours sounded fine from where i was but you didnt open it up or anything. if it doesnt sound normal get it checked. esp since the noice could be comming from the motor itself.

damn, you got a TJ but has less kms than me? yeah damn weather has been crap lately...I usually drive past the parade or magill to go to work..try to catch the bus most days..trying to take it eazy..rain sucks...yeah was wondering does your exhaust make that pulsating burble when you let your foot off the accel and the revs drop? sounds fine from inside but want to know how its suppose to sound outside...already went for a cane up montacute rd on a surprising dry sunday thru the hills..road was great for testing out the handling...handling and response was damn impressive...was blitzing up there...damn addictive.

yes very addictive i absolutely love the car. i cant say ive heard it outside spend to much inside . ill get someone into it tomorrow and go listen. went up to victa harbour on the weekend a few tight turns but nothing harsh who needs thos 75 advisory signs (even in the wet) hehehe...
