Now ive got the big 180,000 km service comming up, and with that comes the Timing Belt change. Being a person that gets a day off a fortnight (and not wanting to spend this day doing chores), i thought i might perhaps try with a Lube Mobile service. I would indeed love to go to my trusty mechanic but i thought i would at least get a quote with Lube Mobile to at least compare prices... at the very least the convience of a mechanic comming to me would save me time (a much more important commodity to me now then money). But upon getting a quote i was very pleasantly suprised:

1997 TE 3 litre Magna Auto : 180,000km service

Timing belt : $375.07
Auto Transmission Service $ 119.80
180k Service $ 169.00

Total $ 663.87

My questions are two fold: Is this a good price? At least at first glance this seemed pretty competitive to other mechanics... what does everyone else think? And secondly, have any of you had any experience with Lube Mobile before?

Is labour included in that amount?? I had Lube mobile come out to me years ago and they charged $100 just to be called out! maybe times have changed...

Why not find a mechanic that will lend you a courtesy car if you are concerned... i did that last week... just an option... I just had to put a bit of fuel in... gave me a chance to test drive a 1st gen... although it was a bomb lol

But IMO that is a good price... but if it does not include labour then I might not think the same.

a dude at work uses lube mobile, gets them to come out and do all his services, their prices are very competitive especially for them coming out. just double check tht quote and ask them if labour in included, some times they don't factor it in the price but most of the time they do.

Never had any problems with the quality of work so don't scrub them off ur list. especially if u haven't got alot of time to play with. their only stipulation is they don't service cars parked on a main road, or steep hill

Dude, just about every company in australia is listed there. Idiots that have nothing better to do complain on that website.
