Hi all ,I have '01 3,5l "SE" with normal auto trans. recently I start worry about my auto transmition.Maybe sombody can tell me what is wrong ?. I done 41.000 km but transmition sometimes start working "rough" (cold & hot) & when driving 80-100 km/h i try to excelerate i can feel knock inside trans. when gear is shifting down. Ah and one more ,few times happen :))when i try to open garage door with remote , car just suddenly stopped I mean engine ,so i must start engine again?! Soon I'll go for service & try to fix problem but I like to have idea.Now somebody can answer me -Thanks. :!: :?:

HI I'm not a mechanic (or anywhere near it!) but when I managed to trash my last transmission in my 99 TH sports it starting giving me probs mainly when it was cold, like if you stuck it reverse and took foot off brake the car wouldn't move backwards at idle speed by itself then it started doing the same thing in first a bit! Between 3rd-4th I'd get a bit of shudder go through the box. Mitsi dealers said that the autos need servicing usually before the 75k service scheduled standard, so changing auto trans fluid is a good start but take it back straight away and get them to check it out!.

In my case it was much more severe (replaced one drive shaft and trans as a result!) but that was when the underside of my TH hit a large stationary object at 70kph :(

If you stuff your box its damn expensive to replace it! check it out sooner rather than later.
