I probably wouldn't place my amplifier too close to the subwoofer, I've had trouble with it before, I've seen it work but I had the subwoofer nxet to an amp once and it killed the amp.
6x9s in a station wagon? Heh, yeah bad choice I think :-|

another idea was to put 1 either side of the boot next to the wheel arches

Yeah, side-panels, sure, but that only really looks good if the amplifiers are exactly the same. Symmetricism (is that a word? eh) is always the key in boot installations if you ask me.

amps are the same, should/could i mount the splits in the stock door position and 6x9's in tailgate.
as for the 6x9's i intend on buying a tj/ tl vrx by the end of next year and the sterio will go in that plus i loved how clear these sounded

You should be able to fit the speakers in the stock location in your Magna now; however, I'm not real sure on Magna's. I know nothing about them, heh.

Top notch Gear you have their ..
I installed Two of those 6123.4 subs last week into a VR Commodore, they go well in a sealed enclosure..
as for the Amp .. Securely fastened to a carpetted false floor on the bottom of your boot should elliminate it from any chance of Vibration death..
Just check as I think they require a 2.4 Cubic Foot enclosure ?? So as long as you keep this in mind when designing your enclosure you should be fine... They are indeed one of those Subs you would love to show off

2.4 cubic foot does that allow for displacement of cone, cos the manual says 2 foot but i dunno????????? does that make sense

According to the Website, the SW6123.4 12 inch sub requires a 2.4cuft enclosure sealed
Still, I am sure it will sound sweet no matter what enclosure you stick it in..(with in 10% of their Quoted figure)
