Ok so this here. http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.research_specs?vehicle_code=19940331.2 1:51:43&sort_type=&current_rec=13&make_name=MITSUBISHI&year_min=1994&year_max=1996&cs_trans_id=2&body_name=Sedan
6.8 L per 100 kays or 41mpg to me?
i get about 27 average. i mostly drive country roads no traffic harldy,
so why cant i get anywhere near that 40 mpg? i mean i could obviosuly try drive super slow, but i try changing up at 2K all shifts and take it real easy on the down shifting, and no booting around corners lol as usual, but no matter how hard i go it pretty well sticks to 25-30 mpg.

and as you can see by the link mine is a 96 TS 2.6 manual , and really that 41 mpg is unrealistic isnt it? But what is realistic?

I have a TR magna and I call it the mini fuel taker. Yes, I get 7 Km to the litre in the city, 10 km to the litre in the country. I was warned, AFTER I bought the car that this model car is legendry for it's hideous fuel consumption.

Cheers

I've found Mitsubishi & Ford's published fuel consumption rates (yes also after I've bought them cars) very misleading & only achievable if your whole journey is straight, const speed and downhill with a tail wind.

Check out what Mazda's say their cars do. They give a more realistic picture, and these are on lighter vehicles with smaller and technologically more advanced engines.

I get around 13 to 13.5 L/100km in city driving. Not too flash for a weak 1470 kg car.

Hey guys i currently own a TS Magna SE 2.6L Auto
there was a stage in were the car used to guzzle up petrol (on a full tank 250km) pretty shocking i took it to the mechanic and he said nothing was wrong with the car 2 weeks later fuel consumption was supprisingly excellent 430 km on full tank

These Magnas can be very wierd cars
BTW has anyone had any altenator problems on there magnas

It actually seems to be transmission related , I am on my second manual magna and the fuel consumption is far more consistent and a lot better then with autos. I've also had and EA that used to drink 18 ,until a few fixes went down to high 13's .Generally when the car feels gutless is when it drinks the most.

923km to a tank?
I think maybe you could push 700 to 750, but that would be MAX. And that's with a tip top engine, a couple of breathing mods and running premium unleaded.
I managed 650km (so just under 10L/100) on a 280,000 km engine, but had just been serviced, running shell optimax, with a couple of breathing mods (cai, muffler, k&n panel).

So how exactly do you guys tell when you are just about to run on fumes? 'cause it sounds like you are using the full 65(?)litres, but mine shows empty at about 45litres gone, so anything past that would be pure guesswork? I never go 'till the red light comes on, let alone push it into the "reserve"...

Mine's hopefully running better now (V6 man wag) with some injector cleaner and a new (cheap) air filter, got a bit better than 10L/100km (I always calculate it the other way, km's per litre - got 10.25k's per litre or so) on my last few fills, but a lot of that was highway driving, will see what the city driving figures are now, was down to at worst 350kms off 45lites (7.8k's a litre, 12.8litres/100kms). Used to get at least 450, so I'm hoping it goes back to that now.
Got about 170 on the clock.

dont pay any attention to all those kinda sites. ive found most of them are all crap. Some state the figures which they were supposed to get when brand new and in perfect condition but even then they are pretty bad figures. supposedly the VN age commodore and EA falcon gets 11-12L/100kms on some sites.
The best site ive seen yet is the NRMA car reviews. While they dont have quiet so many cars they give reasonable sort of advice and pretty good figures for fuel consumption and other info.

i pretty consistently get 13l/100kms but i fill up at the 45L mark and get about 350kms and leave the resevre alone. Not really all that healthy to use your reserve unless you do it consistently. mind you i get this with a sorta modded engine which has about 220k on the clock.

Yeh what he said :). I usually just work out how many kms i've got since my last fill up and work out how manykms i would get with the remaining fuel and then just add the kms together :).

.

well
you tell how much fuel was left in the tank by filling it up, and when it over flows and spills all over the car and yourself, then it a pretty safe bet i think its full

and no i wasnt really expected that 40 mpg was at all correct.
but around the 30 mpg is more realistic
best i got is about
780 kays of 81 litres.

however, i had another question?

what shape is the fuel tank? its 64 litres capacity? But is it positioned so that 64 litres of fuel can be pumped into it? I mean is some of the tank higher than the ingection point?
