As described here:
Link to thread in 2nd gen forum (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21162), I have a busted differential and transmission casing. Have a look at the photos in that thread. I found the damage to be impressive.
Anyway, there are a lot of places in Melbourne that have 2nd hand and reconditioned transmissions available, and plenty of wreckers that have KR Veradas. So I'm sort of clueless with regards to which place to go to.
Can any of you recommend a well priced (but not rock bottom prices with extra dodginess included) place?

In half a year or so I should be able to afford a car that matches my desires a bit better, so I'm not too concerned about the consequences of my decision 5 years down the track. Are 2nd hand transmissions worth the money? I realise that I could get one that is about to break or will break as soon as I sell the car, so at the moment I'm leanging towards a reconditioned one.

The prices I have so far are:
$770, 2nd hand fitted
$1390, reconditioned and about $250 fitting
$1850, brand new from Mitsubishi and about $250 fitting (not very interested in this but others might be). Apparently the brand new one normally costs about $4500. I don't know the name of the place but I know the phone number (03 9587 1266) becase Mitspares referred me to them.
