Guys, i'm really confused as to the fuel consumption of a magna. I have almost finalized a deal but please can some people tell the stats for a
tr or ts manual v6 and a 4 cylinder?

well i found it told me that for a 4 cyl TS manual 41 mpg :doubt:
but really mine with 130K done 30mpg is the best. and appparently it wont get much better than that?

tr manual 2.6 10/100km around town driving nicely
15/100km around town belting it
8/100km highway
iv got a good flow system tho making fuel consumption better when not flogging

TR Auto 1991 4 cylinder, 289k kms on clock. 500+ to 60L tank (unserviced and in need of a reco)
600+ to a 60L tank once serviced and recoed.
I think you'll find that the V6 and 4 will have VERY similar economy, so i'd go for the V6 just for the extra power :).
Though i have to agree with Monga, breathing mods are a MUST for increasing fuel economy :D.

v6 are definately more economic than the 4's, my sisters ks with 330000 on it still does about 610-650 but mine, doesn't make it that far...i have to do another test most of my driving is short bursts but i still get over 500...i reckon i could get 600 out of her if i drove a bit softer

i drive a TJ Ralliart, and with me giving it heaps of sh!t i can still usually pull at LEAST 500km's out of a tank :D

hope this helps...

i think the official specs for the 3.5L are

13L per 100km City
7L per 100km Highway

im pretty sure thats what it is... you will easily get 650 out of a highway tank... just whack the sucker on cruise and bang, your off :D

hope this helped

sory bud, just read that you were only interested in tr/ts... apologies

i had a 4cyl TR.. and she was a real s l u t when it came to fuel.. couldnt get enough. Around 350-400km to a tank is the best it would do.

1992 4 cyl TR auto. Original engine, had the head, spark plug leads, v.r.s. kit and gaskets serviced after it got cooked once. It has 136,000 km running Vortex 98.

Steady 100-110 km/h: low 10s L/100km
Mix of cold stop-start, steady 70+ km/h, and some spirited driving: low 12s L/100km
Cold stop-start (home <--> train station) + spirited driving: mid-high 13s L/100km

On my 2nd last tank, I did around 508 km before I ran out of fuel (just before the service station!). Filled up a little more than 62L. It was 100% urban driving, with some home <--> train station runs + a few bursts of spirited driving.

My 2 cents' worth :)

V6 5spd manual, 660kms from full (well, more like 7/8ths coz tank doesnt fill properly) to fuel needle at bottom and light on. 95% of that was highway driving, between 90 and 110 kph, non highway driving i wasnt giving it ****, and it was at night, with temp needle resting just over as cold as it gets

I have a KR verada, If I see 350ks to a tank before the light comes on I'm extremely lucky, It has some issues that need sorting I think, normally 17-18L/100ks around town, even on the highway it doesn't improve, but all the highway ks i've done have been in hills or with atrailer on, so I can't get a good idea, I do know that with theprice of fuel now up around $1.20 or more, this car is killing me. I do about 600ks a week, so about $130 a week on fuel!

My old TS 4cyl Many would get bout 400 on normal ulp and 450 on optimax. The TE v6 many will get roughly 550-600 on ulp. The 2.6 4cyl was bacsically an astron engine wasn't it?? if so i cant blame it for being a thirsty ho. In saying that my HQ does 22-25L per 100km!!!

I have a 93 TR 2.6L manual. on 133,000kms
best is 500km to a full tank around town. and that's going very very easy on the throttle. If you go harder on it u'd probably get 450 max.

KR Verada, About 350 max, if i let my dad drive it for a week it gets closer to 420, this is on optimax by the way, on 91 subtract at least 50km

breathing mods do not help. My fuel effeciency went from 11-11.5L/100kms to 13-13.5L/100kms with basic extractors and exhaust.

Mind you i have a sneaking suspicion my car is permanantly running in an open loop and ignoring my oxy sensor.
