I've seen a used 3.5lt engine for sale and I wonder what's involved in swapping it into a 96 TE V6 auto.

I've recently found out I may have transmission problems which may cost several grand to fix. The 3.5 comes out of a 97 Verada. Would it be easier to do a complete swap to a 3.5 for about a grand? Any known problems with this year 3.5 and trannny? What's involved and would it bold straight in? Anyone know approximate cost of getting it installed if i bought it?
