Sounds like I've developed a rattle in my Rear Windscreen. Car a 2003 model so not happy. Is this a *normal* occurance, other people had this happen. I think I read last year someone had it fixed under warranty.
I should search, but I need a more specific response. (that's my excuse)
Any idea what's involved in the repair?
Thanks.

Apparently it was something to do with the window being too small or something.
Mums TJ 2 had her rear window and seal replaced under warranty but not for the reasons that u have but becasue the black seals were looking more grey then black and so they replaced the seal with a TL one and i got a new window took them all of one day to do as u gotta let the glue set.
Hopefully this helps and if u still have warranty they will fix it with no probs at all.

I have an '03 KJ 2 GTVi and i have the same rattle, also the black paint around the seal is flaking of on one side. Live in country area so am waiting to go to a more central dealership to get repaired. Also think there is a problem with the front screen rattling and squeeking.... i need to have that looked at aswell. You really notice the rear window when going up a driveway or over speed humps, as the body flexes. Sounds like when you squeeze out one of those synthetic chamois.

You can tell if you have one of the dodgy seals because it's quite flat in cross section whereas the replacement ones have a deep channel and look narrower. Also the dodgy ones will more than likely have flaking paint. The new ones aren't painted, just black rubber.
Had mine done under warranty.

Yeah apparently they don't replace the whole seals anymore, they now put a teflon strip under the rubber channel around the back of the glass.
My paint is pulling off my rubber seal too :( - I brought this to their attention when it was under warrenty service on thursday and they told me that it was some kind of enviromental effect (they didn't replace this rubber either)
When you get it fixed mate, could you please let me know if they replace your rear window seal.
Also, if anyone has had the rear screen rubber replaces solely because the paint was coming off could they please let me know too, thanks.
I think I need to talk to the manager.

Yeah my back window frame has had it's paint start to peal off in places. This looks real dodgy, considering the rest of the car looks fine. Has anyone a solution to fix this?

yeah a few months ago I had to pick up a TJ Sports to get the same thing fixed. Its the only one I have seen so far since I started in November.

Had my back screen replaced, the surround was flaking. The new surround is much thinner and looks better, seems to hold it in place better too.
