hey everyone
i'v recently purchased RPW's new.... yes...new... CAI kit for a pod filter, and upon cutting the wires which connect to the airflow meter, i'v realised i don't know how to get the wires out of the actual thing ! lol
keep in mind im not totally spastic and have obviously unclipped it from the airflow meter, installed the rest of the kit etc.... hence upon lengthening the wires im stuck lol
should i just stick a nail through and poke out each of the 5 wires? or is there a way to unclip it somehow to get the wires out ,
all replies are appreciated
thanks

what i did was cut the plug adapter off... got some wire extensions from super cheap and extended the wires down to the front bumper.... and thats it...

I would suggest cutting the plug off leaving 2" of wire, and extending the wires using good quality cable purchased from Dick Smith or Jaycar (not supercrap - their guage wire is not flexible enough, of dubious quality and expensive).
Use solder and heatshrink and do the job properly.
Match the cable colours if you can, if you cannot, use a different colour for each wire so you don't accidently screw up.
Also purchase some loom tubing to finish the job up so it looks professional.
Personally I would make up an extension using the correct plugs and sockets, but thats just me :P

yeah the problem was, while i was doing up the clamps for the CAI, my mate was doing the wires, and he cut the wires attached to the clip, really short.
so i guess i'll try to take the clip apart? or get the remaining bits of wires out of the clip and put the new extensions in ?
btw, im using solder and heatshrink to join/cover them ... good idea?
all replies r appreciated

Firstly biatchslap your mate for cutting them so short, and try to solder the wires if you can - removing the pins on these connectors without the correct tool will lead to them falling out with vibration later.
How close is close to the pins?

well, the pins crimps have all been pushed out , and new ones put in with the extensions of wire in place, but the car dies after like 2 seconds of being on, as though i have just unplugged the afm !
oh well. time to re-do it ...
